KEEP SMILING

KEEP SMILING is located in the heart of the Eastside of Los Angeles to encourage the traffic of people walking by to "keep on smiling." As part of the process for creating the mural, Michael Norice takes a moment to look around at the community and the people to observe how they are feeling and expressing themselves. Seeing that people around were frowning , frustrated, or down-and-out, he knew the message that needed to be on this wall was one of positivity. That is how "KEEP SMILING" arose.

With the positive message, this has been one of the few murals that has not been graffittied on since it's unveiling which shows us how strongly the community has resonated with the message.
